Throwback to DCM 2014
DCM2014 happened on Feb 8-9 last year, with over 700 registrations and a record turnout of more than 500 attendees at the TCS Induction Center Auditorium. Sponsored by Drupal heavyweights like TCS, Axelerant, Blisstering Solutions and Iksula, the event kicked off with a Keynote Address by Jeffrey A “Jam” McGuire. With two excellent panel discussions ('Open Governance and Open Source' and 'Understanding Drupal and the Communities Around') and several sterling sessions on various topics including Drupal and OpenSource in general (Drupal Security, Agile in Drupal, Pervasive computing with Drupal, Drush, MongoDB and Node.js for Drupal applications, Angular.js integration with Drupal, and much more), there was something for everyone.
Alongside the sessions, CXOs from large companies as well as startups pursuing Drupal and other open source technologies got together at the roundtable to share learnings and together brainstorming the route-map ahead.
Day one ended on a high note with a high-decibel after-party. We Drupaler likez to paahty!
Day 2 was all about getting hands-on with OpenSource, with a Hackathon organized by Codeniti/Codegurukul, working on a social app that combined Github and Twitter, a to-do app with IMDB integration with Tumblr, and another that streamed live game scores right into someone's GMail inbox. Simultaneously, the Drupal code sprint saw concerted effort to fix over 10 Drupal 8 issues.
An amazing value-driven, dynamic, fun-filled and meticulously organised event, DCM2014 was a great start to the year for the burgeoning Drupal community across India.
